Camosun welcomes students with Canada-Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel (CUAET) permits from Ukraine.
College welcomes students from Ukraine
If you entered Canada under (CUAET), and wish to apply to Camosun, you will be considered as a special class international applicant eligible for domestic tuition in academic programs while holding a valid CUAET permit. As most upgrading programs and courses are tuition-free for domestic students, you will be able to study many English as a Second Language (ESL) and Academic Upgrading courses tuition-free*.
*Please note that CUAET students are still responsible for paying non-instructional fees, Camosun College Student Society (CCSS) fees and levies, including CCSS Student Benefits Plan (if and where applicable) as well as other applicable fees. CUAET permit holders are not eligible for Adult Upgrading Grant (formerly ABESAP) funding at this time.
English Language Development (ESL)
There are ranging from ELD 010 English Basics 1 to ELD 097 Professional and Academic English. The duration of each level is up to 4 months (1 term).

Getting the right documents
Long-term ESL program (more than 6 months)
If you are interested in studying for 6 months or longer at Camosun, you are required to apply and receive a under CUAET program from the Government of Canada before the first day of classes.
Proof of Acceptance (electronic copy of your letter of acceptance) and a PAL, provincial attestation letter (if applicable) will be provided once you have been admitted to Camosun College and paid a non-refundable registration deposit.
Can you have a work permit and study permit at the same time?

Short-term ESL program (up to 4 months)
If you are interested in studying in our One Semester International ESL Studies program, you are encouraged to apply for a , but you won’t be required to receive one, if you have valid documents confirming your in Canada for the duration of the One Semester program (up to 4 months).

In the second quarter of 2023, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) introduced that allows some foreign nationals with valid work permits to study without a study permit. Please consult the to determine if you meet the eligibility criteria outlined in this policy.
